Pool Equipment Repair & Modernization

What we repair & upgrade

Certified technicians for every major brand (Hayward, Pentair, Jandy, Raypak).

Pool equipment in South Florida works harder than almost anywhere else. Pumps run year-round instead of shutting down for a winter season, salt and coastal humidity attack metal fittings and control boards, and summer storms push debris and grit through the whole circulation system. That combination is why equipment here tends to fail earlier than the manufacturer's rated life — and why a correct diagnosis matters more than a fast parts swap.

Every repair visit starts with the same routine: we check the actual pressure and flow, inspect the electrical connections and the board, and test the equipment under load before recommending anything. Quite often the real problem is not the part the homeowner suspected. A pump that sounds like it is dying is frequently a worn bearing or a clogged impeller rather than a failed motor, and telling those apart before you buy anything is the difference between a modest repair and an unnecessary replacement.

Common problems we fix

What the symptom usually means, and what the repair normally involves.

The pump won't prime or loses prime

Almost always air entering the suction side: a dried-out pump lid o-ring, a loose drain plug, a cracked union, or a water level that has dropped below the skimmer mouth. We pressure-test the suction line to find where the air gets in. Most of these are same-visit fixes; a cracked line under the deck is the exception and gets quoted separately.

The pump is loud, humming, or won't start

A screech or grinding usually points to failed bearings. A hum with no rotation points to the capacitor or a seized shaft. We test the capacitor and check whether the motor turns freely before recommending anything — on many pools the motor is fine and only the bearings or capacitor need attention.

Filter pressure keeps climbing

Rising pressure means restricted flow: a dirty cartridge, channelled sand, or a DE grid that needs cleaning. If pressure stays high after cleaning, the media itself is spent. We check pressure against the clean baseline for your specific filter rather than a generic number.

The heater fires and then shuts off

Short-cycling is normally insufficient flow, a dirty filter, a failing pressure switch, or scale inside the heat exchanger — very common on hard-water and saltwater pools here. We verify flow first, because replacing parts on a heater that is being starved of water solves nothing.

The salt system reads low salt or low output

Salt cells scale up and lose plate coating over time. We test the actual salinity with a meter instead of trusting the panel reading, inspect the cell for scale, and clean or replace as needed. A panel that reports low salt when the water tests fine usually means the cell is at the end of its life.

The automation panel is unresponsive or offline

Control boards fail from heat, humidity, and lightning surges — all abundant in South Florida. We check power at the board, the transformer, and the relays, and confirm whether the fault is the board itself or the device it is trying to control.

How a repair visit works

No surprises: you approve the work and the price before anything is replaced.

If your pool has gone green while the equipment was down, the repair and the water recovery are usually handled together — see green pool recovery. If the equipment is old enough that repair no longer makes sense, we will say so and show you the replacement options on our pool equipment page.

Pool repair across South Florida

Same technicians, same response window, across our 16-city service area.

We repair pool equipment throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties. Because our technicians run fixed weekly routes, we can usually add a repair call to a route that is already passing near you — which is what keeps the response window short even in the busy summer months.

FAQs

How fast can you come out for a pool repair?

We normally respond within 24–48 hours across Boca Raton and the surrounding cities. If your pump is down and the pool is at risk of turning green, tell us when you call — those get prioritised, because a few days without circulation in Florida heat turns a simple repair into a recovery job as well.

Do you charge for the diagnostic visit?

You get a written quote before any work starts, and the diagnostic is explained on that quote so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Call or text (561) 598-1502 and we will confirm the current diagnostic fee for your address before we schedule.

Should I repair my pump or replace it with a variable-speed model?

If the motor is single-speed and more than about eight years old, replacement usually wins on running cost alone — a variable-speed pump draws a fraction of the electricity because it spends most of its time at low RPM. If the pump is newer, a bearing or capacitor repair is normally the sensible choice. We give you both numbers and let you decide.

Do you work on every brand?

Yes — Hayward, Pentair, Jandy, Raypak, and the common automation systems including iAqualink. See equipment brands for detail on what we stock and service.

Can you repair equipment if I am not a weekly service customer?

Yes. Repairs are available as standalone jobs — you do not need a maintenance contract. Many customers start with a repair and add weekly service afterwards, but there is no obligation either way.

My pool turned green after the equipment failed. Do you handle both?

Yes, and it is normally the same visit or the one right after. We repair the circulation first, because chemicals cannot do their job in water that is not moving, then run the recovery treatment. See green pool recovery.
